Responsibilities
- Implement and support large-scale DNS architecture spanning private and public cloud across multiple regions.
- Implement and support Infoblox DDI, Cloudflare DNS, Google DNS, and AWS DNS services.
- Implement and support multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters on bare-metal servers with software-defined storage protocols.
- Automate DNS service provisioning with infrastructure as code using Ansible, Terraform or Pulumi, Python, Bash, and CI/CD automation.
- Build continuous delivery pipelines for infrastructure updates, patch management, service upgrade testing, and rollback procedures.
- Develop automated monitoring, alerting, and healing mechanisms using GitOps principles and observability stacks.
- Harden services for high availability, disaster recovery, scale-out operations, and tenant isolation.
- Troubleshoot and analyze infrastructure services across hypervisors, backend storage protocols, and networking layers.
- Participate in change management, global team collaboration, on-call rotations, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous learning and technical excellence in cloud engineering and DevOps.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience managing global DNS and Kubernetes environments on Linux operating systems.
- Expertise with Infoblox DDI or similar enterprise DNS systems, BIND9, Cloudflare, GCP, and AWS DNS services.
- Expert knowledge managing Kubernetes and Ubuntu Linux systems.
- Experience automating infrastructure processes and deployments with Ansible, Terraform, Python, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu systems engineering experience with advanced Python or Bash scripting.
- Familiarity with KVM and vSphere hypervisors, iSCSI, NFS, and Ceph storage protocols, software-defined storage, and L2/L3 networking.
- Experience supporting mission-critical, customer-facing 24x7 production environments.
- Ability to write technical documentation and contribute to community wikis or knowledge bases.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience and relevant industry certifications are also considered.
- Understanding of security best practices for system patching and compliance frameworks such as CIS and NIST is preferred.
- Experience with telco, edge-cloud, or large enterprise infrastructure environments is preferred.
- Experience building and maintaining automated test environments for system upgrades and DNS migrations is preferred.
- Strong collaboration, communication, mentorship, and technical leadership skills.
