Base Salary
$182k - $247k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set and drive the technical vision for Spark Structured Streaming.
- Design and build core engine capabilities including state management and new operators.
- Improve latency and throughput through architectural enhancements.
- Raise engineering quality and operability for production software.
- Drive stream processing adoption across the Databricks product portfolio.
- Mentor and technically lead engineers while collaborating with the Engineering Manager.
Requirements
- BS (or higher) in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience building big-data systems, Apache Spark, or database internals.
- Passion for database systems, storage systems, distributed systems, or performance optimization.
- Ability to work towards a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables.
- Proven track record of delivering features with high operational excellence.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with product management and customers.
