Base Salary
$240k - $350k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and own the multi-year technical strategy for AWS Billing architecture.
- Drive architectural decisions across AWS service teams, Marketplace, Sales, and Finance.
- Provide technical guidance on distributed systems, real-time processing, enterprise architecture, and generative AI.
- Design scalable solutions for complex billing problems with emphasis on performance optimization and engineering quality.
- Mentor engineers and the broader engineering community on advanced distributed systems challenges.
- Lead design reviews, integration planning, and hands-on prototyping for real-time billing and pricing systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems in a multi-tiered, service-oriented environment.
- Experience defining and driving multi-year technical strategy across multiple engineering teams.
- Preferred: Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred: Experience with high-volume data processing, real-time computation, or financial and billing systems at scale.
- Preferred: Experience modeling complex pricing, contractual, or regulatory business rules in software.
- Preferred: Familiarity with generative AI technologies and their application to software development workflows.
- Preferred: Experience influencing technical direction across organizational boundaries without direct authority.
