Responsibilities
- Build distributed image-inference systems using AI models.
- Design and develop image-processing logic for inference pre-processing and post-processing.
- Develop and operate model registration and deployment pipelines using a model registry.
- Tune serving systems for speed and cost efficiency and optimize GPU utilization.
- Develop server applications handling large-scale pathology images.
- Improve development environments and automate engineering processes.
- Design, develop, and operate backend components for Lunit SCOPE in accordance with high-quality SaMD standards.
- Collaborate with technical project/program management and quality assurance teams throughout AI model productization.
Requirements
- Have 5–10 years of practical experience in AI/ML model serving or deployment.
- Have taken a leading role across system design, implementation, and commercial product launch.
- Have a deep understanding of production-level Python.
- Demonstrate proactive collaboration, communication, and code-review skills.
- Be adaptable beyond a particular programming language or tool and write clean, readable code.
- Preferred: experience with OpenCV, scikit-image, or OpenSlide for image processing.
- Preferred: experience designing or operating message-queue-based asynchronous distributed systems.
- Preferred: experience protecting model intellectual property, including encrypted model distribution or decryption.
- Preferred: experience with Kotlin/Spring, Rust, or other technologies beyond Python.
- Preferred: English communication skills.
- Preferred: a major in computer science or AI.
