Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, review, and debug secure, high-quality production software.
- Build and enhance scalable technology products using Java and sound software architecture principles.
- Drive responsible adoption and validation of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and root-cause analysis.
- Improve application and system stability by identifying and automating remediation of recurring issues.
- Lead architectural evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams.
- Lead Software Engineering communities of practice and promote new technologies and reusable engineering patterns.
- Mentor junior team members and help establish standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, code quality, and resiliency.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, including expert-level Java 11+ programming skills.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to validate their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Advanced understanding of application resiliency, security, and software development practices.
- Practical cloud-native experience and in-depth knowledge of software design and architecture principles.
- Experience with Agile SDLC, Scrum, code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Experience with modern engineering toolchains for build, dependency management, CI/CD, and code quality, such as Git, Gradle, Jenkins, and Sonar.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
- Strong Linux command-line skills, preferably AWS cloud platform experience, and familiarity with modern web UI technologies.
