Base Salary
$191k - $222k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and improve sign-in, registration, MFA, account recovery, password reset, and MyWallet experiences.
- Own and evolve the real-time risk engine to detect credential attacks, account takeover, and abuse while preserving a low-friction member experience.
- Drive medium-to-large features end-to-end, including requirements clarification, technical planning, deployment, and post-launch evaluation.
- Maintain production health through on-call participation, incident response, post-mortems, reliability improvements, and observability improvements.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code and improve codebase health through reviews, documentation, technical-debt reduction, and shared components.
- Integrate MFA providers, email and SMS delivery services, internal identity services, and downstream relying parties.
- Mentor and unblock engineers through pairing, code review, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Security, Identity, and engineering teams to resolve dependencies and shape technical direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of professional software development experience with a strong emphasis on full-stack web engineering.
- At least one year of daily proficiency using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Proficiency with a modern server-side web framework such as Ruby on Rails, Django, or Laravel.
- Hands-on experience building and operating production web applications at scale, including reliability ownership and on-call support.
- Ability to independently drive loosely defined, medium-to-large features from definition through production with sound technical tradeoffs.
- Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
- Experience with authentication and identity standards such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, or FIDO2/WebAuthn.
- Experience with fraud detection, real-time risk engines, or abuse mitigation systems.
- Familiarity with credential security practices including password storage, session management, token issuance, and rate limiting.
- Experience with React or other modern frontend frameworks.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and performance profiling tools.
- Startup or high-growth company experience with strong execution and ownership.
