Responsibilities
- Develop production-quality features and defect resolutions for Java and/or TypeScript microservices under senior engineer mentorship.
- Write unit, integration, and contract tests for backend services.
- Participate in peer code reviews using GitLab.
- Analyze backend performance, including database query optimization and API latency profiling.
- Create API specifications, architecture decision records, and operational runbooks.
- Improve monitoring dashboards, alerting configurations, and structured logging in Datadog.
- Participate in team Agile ceremonies and contribute to modernization and infrastructure optimization research.
- Present project accomplishments, technical contributions, and key learnings to engineering leadership.
Requirements
- Be a rising senior graduating between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
- Have a current GPA of at least 3.0.
- Be able to travel locally to internship development events and activities.
- Be authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions or the need for future sponsorship.
- Have Java experience; TypeScript or JavaScript and SQL familiarity are preferred.
- Have knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, API design, Git, cloud computing, containers, testing, messaging middleware, and CI/CD fundamentals.
- Demonstrate analytical, problem-solving, communication, self-directed learning, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
