Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise solution and integration architecture for EHR, ERP, digital, and IT transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain technology roadmaps aligned with platform milestones and institutional strategy.
  • Catalog, evaluate, optimize, and plan the decommissioning of current and legacy technologies.
  • Gather requirements and build coalitions with clinical, operational, research, administrative, and technology stakeholders.
  • Define architectural principles, standards, templates, governance processes, and escalation models.
  • Provide architectural oversight for major IT initiatives, transformation programs, and cloud, on-premise, and hybrid integrations.
  • Validate system performance, scalability, security, and compliance in collaboration with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams.
  • Mentor junior architects and technical staff and represent the organization at conferences, vendor briefings, and technical forums.
  • Support disaster recovery, business continuity, merger and acquisition integration planning, capital planning, and post-implementation reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant education and experience.
  • At least eight years of experience developing and overseeing solution architecture, enterprise systems design, or IT strategy.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and leading IT transformation initiatives in complex environments.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, or a related field and at least ten years of enterprise architecture or solution design experience.
  • Healthcare, hospital, medical education, research, new-facility technology design, and implementation experience are preferred.
  • Experience with Epic, ERP platforms, Microsoft Azure, and healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR is preferred.
  • Preferred certifications include TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, SAFe Architect, and PMP or equivalent.
  • Applicants must provide a resume or CV, three work references including at least one supervisor reference, and a letter of interest.
  • Finalists must complete a criminal history background check and, if hired, complete federal I-9 employment verification.

Benefits

  • Regular full-time position scheduled for 40 hours per week in Austin, Texas, with an expected continuing duration.
  • Salary starts at $189,279 depending on qualifications.
  • Eligible positions of at least 20 hours per week and 135 days in length participate in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.
  • The position includes standard university employment eligibility, E-Verify processing, and equal opportunity employment practices.
