Base Salary

$78k - $130k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, debug, and maintain embedded software for customer and internal product lines.
  • Bring up embedded software on new hardware platforms and verify microcontrollers, memory, clocks, interrupts, interfaces, and peripherals.
  • Develop and integrate low-level drivers and board support software for UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, USB, Ethernet, and GPIO.
  • Develop and execute hardware bring-up, integration, regression, reliability, and product validation tests.
  • Diagnose startup, communication, timing, memory, and hardware/firmware integration issues.
  • Support software architecture, project planning, technical documentation, team training, manufacturing, field teams, customers, and product lifecycle activities.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineering on schematics, component selection, prototypes, product development, and transition to manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in embedded software development or related engineering roles.
  • Proficiency in C or C++, Git or GitHub, and real-time operating environments such as FreeRTOS or MQX.
  • Strong understanding of hardware/software integration and system-level design.
  • Experience with new board bring-up and debugging low-level hardware/software issues on prototype hardware.
  • Ability to read schematics, datasheets, reference manuals, and interface documentation.
  • Experience with embedded debug tools such as JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and serial/protocol analysis tools.
  • Experience integrating Bluetooth/BLE, UART, SPI, I2C, USB, or Ethernet.
  • Ability to work independently across design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, field teams, or customer applications is preferred.
