Responsibilities

  • Design and implement backend services for AI-native accounting products and workflows.
  • Develop Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL services, APIs, and backend logic for real-time AI interactions.
  • Build AI orchestration systems integrating LLMs from OpenAI, Anthropic, and other providers.
  • Design scalable distributed systems, APIs, data models, and production-grade architectures.
  • Monitor and improve system performance, security, scalability, and reliability across millions of documents and AI-driven interactions.
  • Lead engineers, AI researchers, and product teams on large projects or workstreams.
  • Collaborate with frontend, product, and design teams to build AI interfaces including Conversations, Workspaces, Grid, and Knowledge Base.
  • Assist with hiring and mentor engineers while fostering experimentation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6–8 years of experience in backend development building scalable web services and APIs.
  • Strong Python skills with experience in FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
  • Experience with distributed systems, API design, and data model design.
  • Strong system design, architecture, debugging, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Track record of building secure, scalable, reliable, production-grade software.
  • Preferred experience with AI-driven systems, agent-based architectures, or AI APIs such as OpenAI and Anthropic.
  • Preferred knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, search-based AI, backend testing strategies, and automation.
