Responsibilities

  • Implement server features, components, and services using EA’s central technologies.
  • Create and maintain client code supporting features and multiplayer experiences.
  • Optimize client and server systems for latency, reliability, scalability, performance, and memory.
  • Design and iterate on architecture and infrastructure improvements for live systems and workflows.
  • Partner with other teams to establish and maintain online infrastructure and services.
  • Own experiences across the full stack, from game-client UI through backend services and databases.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in high-performance C++ applications.
  • Experience developing and debugging multithreaded or concurrent architectures.
  • Experience with networked applications or features, including client/server and/or peer-to-peer systems.
  • Familiarity with database technologies such as MySQL, SQL, and Redis.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.
  • AAA video game development experience is preferred.
  • Experience shipping and supporting multiplayer or live-service products is preferred.
  • Experience with Frostbite, Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary game engines is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo gaming platforms is preferred.
  • Experience with dedicated servers, matchmaking systems, telemetry, online platform services, and Perforce or Git is preferred.

  • British Columbia work location with stated compensation range of CAD 141,400–204,400.
