Responsibilities
- Define and execute the target-state architecture and technology roadmap for Securities Lending and Prime Brokerage platforms.
- Lead large-scale modernization initiatives using cloud-native, microservices, event-driven, real-time, and distributed-system architectures.
- Design highly available, resilient, scalable, low-latency platforms for Front Office and Trading workflows.
- Drive engineering excellence across automation, observability, performance optimization, disaster recovery, and operational readiness.
- Architect and operate AWS-based multi-region platforms using services including EKS, ECS, Lambda, Aurora/PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, and EventBridge.
- Design streaming and messaging ecosystems capable of handling high transaction volumes and real-time business workflows.
- Drive adoption of GitHub Copilot, generative AI, and AI-powered software engineering practices.
- Partner with global Business, Trading, Operations, Product, and Technology stakeholders and mentor technical talent.
Requirements
- 20+ years of software engineering, architecture, and technology leadership experience.
- Proven experience architecting and delivering large-scale distributed systems within Capital Markets.
- Deep expertise in high-performance, low-latency, mission-critical platforms, scalability, resiliency, fault tolerance, high availability, caching, and disaster recovery.
- Expertise in Domain-Driven Design, microservices, event-driven architecture, asynchronous messaging, streaming, API-first architecture, service decomposition, and enterprise integration.
- Extensive hands-on AWS architecture and engineering experience, including EKS/Kubernetes, ECS, Lambda, Aurora/PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, EventBridge, and cloud security services.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or CloudFormation and experience designing multi-region platforms.
- Deep knowledge of Kafka, event streaming, messaging platforms, real-time data processing, and low-latency Front Office and Trading architectures.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Python, and distributed computing.
- Experience with Databricks, Spark, data engineering, cloud data platforms, large-scale data processing, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
- Demonstrated experience adopting GitHub Copilot, generative AI, and responsible AI-powered software engineering practices.
- Preferred experience in Securities Lending, Prime Brokerage, Securities Finance, Repo Financing, Collateral Management, Equity Finance, Funding and Liquidity Management, or Capital Markets Trading Platforms.
