Lead Architect (Prime Services Technology) - Vice President
State StreetResponsibilities
- Define and execute target-state architecture for Securities Lending and Prime Brokerage technology platforms.
- Lead architecture, engineering strategy, technology roadmaps, and large-scale modernization initiatives.
- Design scalable, resilient, fault-tolerant, high-availability, low-latency, and mission-critical platforms.
- Drive cloud-native, microservices, event-driven, real-time, and distributed systems architecture.
- Design multi-region platforms with disaster recovery, operational readiness, observability, and performance optimization.
- Partner globally with Business, Trading, Operations, Product, and Technology stakeholders.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted software development, engineering productivity practices, and modern developer experience frameworks.
- Provide strategic technology leadership, mentoring, collaboration, and talent development.
Requirements
- 20+ years of software engineering, architecture, and technology leadership experience.
- Proven experience architecting and delivering large-scale distributed systems within Capital Markets.
- Deep expertise in high-performance, low-latency, mission-critical platforms and high-volume transactional systems.
- Expertise in Domain Driven Design, microservices architecture, event-driven architecture, asynchronous messaging, streaming, and real-time data processing.
- Strong knowledge of scalability, resiliency, fault tolerance, caching, disaster recovery, API-first architecture, service decomposition, and enterprise integration.
- Extensive hands-on AWS architecture and engineering experience, including EKS/Kubernetes, ECS, Lambda, Aurora/PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, EventBridge, and cloud security services.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation and with multi-region highly available platforms.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, distributed computing, and proficiency in Python.
- Experience with Kafka, Databricks, Spark, data engineering, cloud data platforms, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
- Demonstrated experience adopting GitHub Copilot, Generative AI, and AI-powered software engineering practices responsibly.
- Preferred experience in Securities Lending, Prime Brokerage, Securities Finance, Repo Financing, Collateral Management, Equity Finance, Funding and Liquidity Management, or Capital Markets Trading Platforms.
- Ability to provide strategic leadership, influence stakeholders, mentor talent, and maintain a strong business and customer focus.
