Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, high-quality production software and algorithms.
- Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure software implementation meets design constraints.
- Build and operate containerized workloads on AWS ECS and/or EKS, including orchestration, networking, IAM, autoscaling, load balancing, and production troubleshooting.
- Author reusable Terraform modules and manage workspaces, remote state, imports, lifecycle settings, dependencies, and plan/apply troubleshooting.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI coding and automation tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating outputs through peer review, testing, and secure coding practices.
- Analyze large and diverse datasets to identify patterns and drive improvements to software applications, coding hygiene, and system architecture.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Practical experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- Hands-on AWS experience with VPC, EKS, IAM, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, KMS, ALB/NLB, and Auto Scaling.
- Experience with AWS networking, including subnets, route tables, NAT/IGW, security groups/NACLs, PrivateLink/VPC endpoints, VPN/Direct Connect, and Route 53.
- Experience using AI-assisted software development tools and evaluating, validating, and refining generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, CI/CD, application resiliency, security, and agile methodologies.
- Preferred familiarity with Confluent Kafka, AWS MSK, Kafka Streams, Connect, and Schema Registry.
