Responsibilities
- Lead development efforts for large-scale or multiple application development projects.
- Provide architectural guidance, conduct design reviews, and perform code reviews for Agile, Plan of Record, and Next Gen Architecture projects.
- Develop, promote, and communicate design patterns, best practices, and long-term technology strategies.
- Assess technical and business risks, communicate impacts, and drive timely trade-off decisions with stakeholders.
- Guide teams in building efficient systems considering hardware, runtime, performance, load, and memory requirements.
- Mentor and coach software development engineers and empower teams to deliver effectively.
- Coordinate dependencies across agile and waterfall delivery efforts, remove blockers, and create clear delivery plans.
- Track and communicate metrics related to design reviews, code reviews, CI/CD, and design-pattern adoption.
- Drive continuous improvement, adoption of new technology, compliance with applicable policies, and transparent escalation of control issues.
Requirements
- 12+ years of design and development experience with Java, microservices, MongoDB, Oracle, distributed computing, OpenShift, and AI tools.
- 6–10 years of relevant application development experience or senior-level enterprise architecture experience as a subject matter expert.
- Expertise with Citi’s internal and external cloud platforms, including Apigee, OpenShift, and Akamai.
- Advanced knowledge of algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, and networking, with the ability to lead architecture and broader adoption.
- Knowledge of automating code quality, code performance, unit testing, and build processing in CI/CD environments.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, architecture, design patterns, risk management, and technology strategy.
- Bachelor’s or university degree required; master’s degree preferred.
