Responsibilities
- Develop and design new features for the ONTAP storage operating system.
- Enhance existing products and develop new distributed software for cloud, hybrid-cloud, and on-premises solutions.
- Participate across the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, debugging, testing, and customer support.
- Sustain existing functionality and address engineering escalations.
- Collaborate with QA, System Test Engineering, and other cross-functional engineering teams.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Incorporate customer requirements and feedback into product development.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in system software design and development.
- Hands-on programming experience in C, C++, and Python.
- Deep understanding of Unix/Linux systems programming and multithreaded application development.
- Solid knowledge of operating system internals and related concepts.
- Experience in storage and distributed systems is highly desirable.
- Commitment to software engineering best practices, code quality, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to deliver high-quality solutions within aggressive timelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and business stakeholders.
- Understanding of customer deployment environments and experience collaborating beyond engineering.
- Bachelor of Science in engineering or computer science with 4–8 years of experience, or a master’s degree, or equivalent experience.
