Base Salary
$170k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the core services behind Crusoe Cloud’s managed container registry.
- Design and ship strategic components from initial design through production.
- Drive performance improvements, remove bottlenecks, and make architecture trade-offs for scalability and dependability.
- Remain hands-on in the codebase while guiding architecture decisions and design and code reviews.
- Shape technical designs across the team and adjacent teams and align priorities with product and platform partners.
- Own how the registry performs, degrades, and recovers in production.
- Mentor teammates and help newer engineers develop expertise in the team’s systems.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of professional software development experience, including building and operating distributed systems.
- Proven experience designing, scaling, and hardening distributed systems in high-load production environments.
- Practical experience profiling, benchmarking, and optimizing latency, throughput, caching, and resource usage.
- Strong fundamentals in Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform, with proficiency in Go, Rust, Java, or C++.
- Experience owning complex projects from design through deployment and production operation.
- Ability to communicate technical trade-offs and collaborate with technical and non-technical partners.
- Interest in mentoring engineers and contributing to hiring.
- Bonus: familiarity with OCI image and distribution specifications, container registry products, or storage and caching systems at scale.
