Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale backend systems supporting Forter’s real-time decisioning and APIs.
- Own projects end to end from design and implementation through production rollout and monitoring.
- Build systems that are low-latency, fault-tolerant, and high-throughput across distributed environments.
- Improve observability, reliability, and developer experience through operational and tooling practices.
- Collaborate with Product, analysts, data scientists, infrastructure teams, and customers on the decisioning ecosystem and enterprise integrations.
- Participate in technical discussions and explain complex systems clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building backend systems in large-scale production environments.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Kotlin, or Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Proven ability to design and maintain high-scale distributed systems.
- Strong ownership, autonomy, accountability, and communication skills.
- Preferred: experience with API Gateway architectures, schema/versioning strategies, platformization, Flink, Storm, resilience patterns, data science or machine learning teams, developer platforms, infrastructure services, or internal engineering tools.
