Responsibilities
- Own medium-sized technical features and components independently, delivering stable, production-ready code with minimal supervision.
- Build and extend a Django backend serving multiple countries from a shared codebase.
- Integrate daily with Kraken Customer, Kraken Field, and Kraken Flex across billing, CRM, authentication, and device-control services.
- Design and build platform architecture, data integrations, and automations for low-carbon technology products.
- Identify and address monitoring, alerting, and observability gaps, and participate in incident management within the team’s domain.
- Contribute to technical designs, code reviews, documentation, debugging, and continuous delivery through small pull requests.
Requirements
- 3–4 years of experience building web applications in Python, ideally with Django.
- Experience writing highly testable code, including unit, integration, and functional tests, and working with relational databases and background task processing.
- Ability to work in large, multi-tenant codebases with shared abstractions, territory-specific behavior, and upstream service integrations.
- Comfort with continuous delivery, automated type checking, linting, and CI-based guardrails.
- Ability to break engineering problems into shippable increments while requirements and domain context evolve.
- Interest in smart energy devices and the software connecting them to homes; hardware expertise is not required.
- Openness to using modern AI tools in development, testing, and debugging, plus initiative, coachability, and willingness to adapt.
- Experience with TypeScript, AWS Lambda, CDK, DynamoDB, API Gateway, distributed architectures, or scaling across services is valuable.
