Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Python services and REST APIs for integrating and managing external applications, engines, and infrastructure within Foundry.
- Define integration contracts connecting external engines with Foundry’s IAM, metadata layer, and UI, and lead initial integrations.
- Own Helm charts, operators, offline bundles, installation, upgrade, and supportability across Kubernetes distributions, cloud providers, sovereign clouds, and air-gapped environments.
- Integrate Foundry with OIDC/SAML identity providers, object storage, container registries, ingress, network policies, and GPU scheduling infrastructure.
- Own CI/CD pipelines, releases, and multi-environment integration testing for supported deployment targets.
- Instrument the platform and installed applications with metrics, logs, and traces, and create operational runbooks.
- Turn prototypes and one-off integrations into stable, documented, versioned services and tooling.
Requirements
- 5+ years of platform, infrastructure, or backend engineering experience, including at least 2 years shipping and operating production workloads on Kubernetes.
- 3+ years writing production Python and owning backend services end to end, including API design, data models, testing, and packaging.
- Experience building versioned, authenticated, and validated REST APIs with FastAPI, Django REST Framework, or a similar Python framework, using Pydantic or an equivalent.
- Experience with SQLAlchemy, Alembic, or equivalent Python data-access and migration tools on PostgreSQL, including schema design.
- Experience with async Python, structured logging, Pytest, type hints, and linters.
- Experience using Python to interact programmatically with Kubernetes and cloud APIs, such as the Kubernetes client or Boto3.
- Deep hands-on experience creating and maintaining Helm charts and Kubernetes packaging.
- Experience deploying software into on-premises, private-cloud, restricted-network, or air-gapped environments.
- Experience with AWS services including EKS, ECR, RDS, S3, and Secrets Manager.
- Experience integrating enterprise identity using OIDC, OAuth2, or SAML and managing production secrets and configuration.
- Understanding of Docker, image building and hardening, and container registries.
- Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
- Preferred qualifications include Kubernetes operator or controller development, GitOps tooling, plugin or app-store systems, Python package or CLI publishing, GPU workloads on Kubernetes, LLM serving, observability, ML orchestration, Go, and open-source infrastructure contributions.
