Base Salary
$174k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate technology options.
- Triage, debug, track, and resolve product or system issues affecting hardware, networks, services, and quality.
- Design and implement networking features for AI/ML workloads on GDC platforms.
- Design and develop data-plane and control-plane connectivity solutions for hybrid and multicloud environments.
- Support external customers troubleshooting issues in production Kubernetes clusters.
- Evaluate, integrate, and productize open-source networking technologies for GKE and GDC.
- Collaborate with product teams and leadership to define and refine the Kubernetes Networking roadmap and strategy.
- Engage with the open-source community to help shape Kubernetes networking.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience in Go, C, or Python.
- At least 5 years of experience with network architectures, protocols such as TCP/IP and BGP, and networking technologies.
- At least 5 years of experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- At least 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, or working with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- Experience with cloud compute platforms such as Kubernetes and Cloud Functions.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: experience with cloud environments and familiarity with Linux kernel compute, networking, and storage modules, CPU scheduling, resource allocation, cgroups, RTOS, and RCU.
- Preferred: knowledge of IPv4, IPv6, iptables, L4/L7 load balancing, DNS, and kernel-level networking components on Linux and optionally Windows.
Benefits
- US base salary of $174000-$252000, plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
