Base Salary

$120k - $290k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and build the Neki control plane for provisioning, scaling, and healing clusters with minimal customer-visible downtime.
  • Build and maintain high-availability, disaster-recovery, and data-protection solutions.
  • Develop tooling and automation for database operations, backup, restore, and migration workflows.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Work directly with customers to understand workloads and translate needs into platform improvements.
  • Collaborate with and mentor other engineers while communicating complex technical tradeoffs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale production systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Go, with experience in languages such as Ruby and Python.
  • Experience building and maintaining distributed, fault-tolerant services at scale.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized applications.
  • Strong experience building, operating, or maintaining large-scale PostgreSQL deployments in production.
  • Understanding of operating-systems concepts including multithreading, memory management, networking, storage, and performance.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and ability to reason about distributed, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and infrastructure-as-code is helpful.
  • Experience with database-as-a-service or managed database platforms is helpful.
  • Open-source contributions, particularly in PostgreSQL or database infrastructure, are helpful.
