Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy global and local path-planning, trajectory-optimization, replanning, and multi-agent coordination algorithms.
- Build high-performance real-time command-and-control software for mission-planning tools, autonomous tasking, and unmanned-system routing.
- Implement robust planners, search algorithms, and decision-making systems for safe and optimal routing in uncertain environments.
- Use high-fidelity simulations, modeling tools, and statistical techniques to validate planner behavior across mission scenarios.
- Develop algorithms for collaborative autonomy, asset routing, obstacle avoidance, and threat avoidance.
- Integrate path-planning technologies into the broader command-and-control software stack from requirements definition through testing and optimization.
- Communicate technical progress and actionable insights to colleagues, operators, and end users.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in algorithm design, software development, and mathematical modeling with C/C++ and/or Rust programming expertise.
- Strong knowledge of graph-based search, sampling-based planning, and online or real-time replanning techniques, including A*, D* Lite, RRT, RRT*, and PRM.
- Experience with guidance, navigation, and control; trajectory optimization or prediction; or predictive models for vehicle dynamics and weapon-system effectiveness such as 6-DoF simulation and intercept analysis.
- Understanding of linear algebra, optimization, computational geometry, graph theory, vehicle dynamics, kinematic constraints, and control theory.
- Knowledge of autonomous ground, air, or maritime platforms, including high-speed aerial vehicles, and their use through command-and-control systems.
- Familiarity with map representations, terrain reasoning, state estimation, and large-scale geospatial and environmental data in distributed command-and-control architectures.
- Exposure to machine learning for planning and decision-making, including reinforcement learning, learned heuristics, and behavior prediction.
- Ability to write robust concurrent code and work across prototyping, production optimization, testing, and deployment lifecycles.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Preferred: Rust experience for high-performance safety-critical software and experience extending planning or routing stacks in mixed greenfield/brownfield production codebases.
