Responsibilities
- Develop, debug, and test flight controllers and guidance algorithms.
- Develop and test Software-In-The-Loop and Hardware-In-The-Loop systems for flight-test preparation.
- Define requirements with the flight software team, integrate GNC software, and test functionality in simulation.
- Review flight-control, subsystem, and instrumentation data to verify vehicle performance, evaluate controller behavior, and debug test or field incidents.
- Develop models supporting functional evaluation of GNC software.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field focused on dynamic systems and control.
- Eight years of professional experience in a GNC role, preferably on airborne platforms.
- Experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
- Experience modeling and simulating linear and nonlinear dynamic systems, including model linearization.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in a relevant engineering or robotics field focused on dynamic systems and control.
- Preferred: experience with state estimation, Kalman filtering, sensor fusion, aerial navigation integration and debugging, aircraft or missile flight-control design and analysis, guidance algorithm development, C/C++, and Simulink Embedded Coder.
