Base Salary
$135k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale a new Content Delivery Network for Starlink.
- Build robust, responsive, and scalable distributed systems.
- Develop tools, visibility, and alerting mechanisms for diagnosing, operating, and maintaining business-critical systems in real time.
- Design algorithms to optimize hardware utilization and cost efficiency against business-critical performance metrics.
- Implement systems that shape traffic across multiple CDNs.
- Participate in and lead architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Develop prototypes and manage experiments for future design concepts and Starlink use cases.
- Work extended hours and weekends as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or another STEM discipline, or 2+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree.
- Software development experience in C, C++, or Rust.
- Advanced degree in computer science or engineering preferred.
- Networking and professional distributed systems experience preferred; internship experience is applicable for distributed systems experience.
- Experience designing and building CDN systems preferred.
- Experience with complex networking systems spanning layers 0–7 preferred.
- Experience with Edge Networking, DNS, Traffic Management, Caching, Load Balancing, SSL/TLS, DDoS protection, or monitoring preferred.
- Knowledge of network topology, numerical optimization, graph theory, or convex optimization preferred.
- Experience developing, debugging, and deploying scalable software used in real-world applications or projects.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements.
- Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.

- Base salary is listed at $135,000–$160,000 for Level 1 and $155,000–$195,000 for Level 2.
