Base Salary
$125k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop highly reliable and available software systems for managing thousands of satellites in low-Earth orbit.
- Develop prototypes to validate key design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
- Collaborate with engineers to plan and organize product development.
- Own the complete software lifecycle, including requirements discovery, prototyping, development, testing, rollout, and ongoing support.
- Support critical-path development and critical on-orbit operations, including extended hours and weekends as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a science discipline, or 3+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 1 year of professional software development experience.
- Experience with Python, C++, or a similar object-oriented programming language.
- Experience with distributed systems or large-scale consumer internet systems.
- Production experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Understanding of version control, testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and monitoring.
- Experience profiling and improving application performance.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or CockroachDB.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, take initiative, and communicate effectively.
- Strong background in mathematics and physics.
- Satellite or spacecraft systems experience is preferred.
- Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain one.
- Applicant must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.
