Responsibilities
- Lead the solution, development, validation, and optimization of software solutions for AMD datacenter products and ecosystem initiatives.
- Investigate complex interactions across hardware, firmware, operating systems, virtualization technologies, and cloud environments.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship through design reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing.
- Partner across architecture, silicon, firmware, BIOS, operating system, and cloud teams to resolve system-level issues.
- Develop performance characterization, benchmarking, workload analysis, optimization strategies, and automation frameworks.
- Lead root cause analysis for complex customer-reported issues and drive timely resolution.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and define platform strategies, technical roadmaps, and engineering recommendations.
- Create technical documentation, design specifications, and executive-level presentations.
- Represent the team in customer, partner, and internal technical engagements as a subject matter expert.
- Drive improvements in scalability, performance, reliability, operational excellence, and strategic engineering execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline is required.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Advanced experience in systems software, platform engineering, operating systems, virtualization, performance engineering, or related areas is preferred.
- Strong understanding of x86 server architecture and modern datacenter platforms is required.
- Extensive experience debugging complex software and system issues with WinDBG, kernel debuggers, trace analysis tools, and performance profiling utilities is preferred.
- Experience with Windows Server, Linux distributions, Hyper-V, VMware, KVM, or other virtualization technologies is preferred.
- Strong software development skills using Python, C, and/or C++ are preferred.
- Experience developing automation frameworks, validation tools, or performance analysis infrastructure is preferred.
- Experience running, analyzing, and interpreting system-level benchmarks and performance workloads is preferred.
- Working knowledge of firmware, BIOS, device drivers, kernel subsystems, or hardware/software interactions is preferred.
- Experience collaborating with customers, ecosystem partners, cloud providers, or independent hardware/software vendors is preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading technical projects and influencing engineering decisions across organizational boundaries is preferred.
- Strong Windows operating system debugging, communication, collaboration, independent problem-solving, and technical leadership skills are expected.
