Base Salary
$219k - $301k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own backend services and APIs powering the core product.
- Model data and design reliable, fast, and cost-efficient systems that scale with usage.
- Set technical direction for major backend areas and improve quality, observability, and operational health.
- Partner with client, ML, and product engineers to deliver end-to-end features.
- Mentor engineers and improve the team’s development practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including significant backend/server systems work.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, APIs, and service reliability.
- Track record of designing and shipping backend systems at scale.
- Experience leading project technical direction and working independently with limited guidance.
- Preferred experience integrating AI tools, applying responsible and ethical AI practices, and developing skills in prompt/context engineering and agent orchestration.
- Preferred experience taking a new product backend from 0 to 1, building high-throughput or low-latency systems, working with social or consumer-scale data, and partnering with ML/recsys systems.
Benefits
- Base salary is $219,000/year to $301,000/year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
