Base Salary
$153k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve backend services and APIs for Robinhood Gold experiences and growth journeys.
- Own technical projects from design through launch, measurement, and iteration.
- Partner with product, design, data, and engineering teams to translate ambiguous opportunities into scalable systems.
- Improve reliability, performance, observability, and developer velocity for product-facing backend systems.
- Shape architecture and technical direction for subscription, member-benefit, and engagement systems.
- Use metrics and engineering judgment to balance speed, quality, and maintainability.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, debugging, and hands-on collaboration.
- Raise standards for system design, execution, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience building and operating backend systems in production.
- Strong proficiency designing distributed systems, APIs, and data models for reliability and scale.
- Experience leading medium-to-large technical projects with multiple stakeholders and measurable business impact.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving product environments and create pragmatic execution plans.
- Strong product sense and willingness to engage with customer experience, experimentation, and business outcomes.
- Ability to independently drive work from concept to production with high ownership.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
