Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain frontend applications and capabilities for AI-powered digital agent interactions.
- Build reusable web components and embedded experiences across Intermedia products and customer-facing websites.
- Create responsive real-time and asynchronous conversational experiences with streaming responses, processing states, errors, interruptions, and rich interactive content.
- Support transitions and handoffs between digital agents and human assistance while preserving conversation context.
- Partner with backend and AI/ML engineers to define APIs, events, data contracts, and interaction patterns.
- Collaborate with Product and UX to translate customer needs and conversational design into intuitive experiences.
- Define frontend architecture, reusable patterns, engineering standards, and technical direction.
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, reliability, accessibility, browser compatibility, and varied network conditions.
- Address authentication, authorization, privacy, security, sensitive information protection, analytics, telemetry, monitoring, logging, and observability.
- Lead technical design discussions, code and design reviews, complex initiatives, production troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and coach engineers and help raise frontend engineering capabilities across the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant frontend application development.
- Deep proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design, browser technologies, and modern web application architecture.
- Experience building complex interactive production web applications and reusable frontend components, libraries, or frameworks.
- Strong understanding of frontend architecture, component design, state management, performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, accessibility, browser compatibility, and frontend security.
- Experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful APIs, asynchronous services, distributed backend systems, and real-time or event-driven experiences.
- Experience with automated frontend testing, CI/CD, source control, code reviews, observability, and modern software delivery practices.
- Ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives from design through production and navigate ambiguous requirements.
- Experience providing technical guidance, code review, or mentorship to other engineers.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across Product, UX, frontend, backend, AI/ML, and platform teams.
- Working understanding of Agile development methodologies and frameworks.
