Base Salary
$195k - $229k/yr
Responsibilities
- Plan, build, and improve background-agent infrastructure for reliable, trackable, and repeatable automated engineering work.
- Develop systems and evaluation sets for measuring agent performance through task outcomes, quality, human intervention, cost, and other signals.
- Create feedback loops, tuning processes, and correction mechanisms to improve AI systems over time.
- Improve the discovery, understanding, adoption, and usefulness of shared AI tools and developer workflows.
- Evaluate and integrate AI development tools for code generation, AI-assisted review, and testing.
- Develop visibility into workflow usefulness, friction, and evolution, and improve code review processes using real engineering feedback.
- Help shape systems for an autonomous software factory that enable agents to complete bounded engineering tasks safely and effectively.
- Work with engineers and internal users to understand needs, validate solutions, make product tradeoffs, and deliver complex projects.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical design discussions, testing, observability, reliability, and security while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Substantial industry software engineering experience.
- Experience taking technical leadership roles on teams or complex projects.
- Experience improving AI systems, creating evaluation sets, and using measurement and iteration to improve quality.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience designing, building, testing, and operating reliable systems.
- Experience with developer tooling, AI-enabled workflows, agentic systems, infrastructure, or related technical domains.
- Ability to work through ambiguity, decompose complex problems, manage dependencies, and help projects reach completion.
- Experience in rapidly scaling startups or larger companies with a strong bias for action.
- Hands-on, action-oriented approach with willingness to engage directly with users.
- Strong product judgment, curiosity, written and verbal communication, and technical explanation skills.
- Collaborative approach and demonstrated ability to contribute meaningfully as part of a team.
- Uses AI in day-to-day work, experiments to build fluency, and applies sound judgment to maintain a high quality bar.
