Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and iterate agentic AI systems with engineers, product managers, solution engineers, and customers.
- Build and ship high-quality, production-grade software using modern engineering practices.
- Design and orchestrate complex systems in which AI agents integrate into human workflows.
- Build and maintain shared system context containing system designs, constraints, and standards.
- Critically evaluate human- and AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
- Build end-to-end AI agents and complex AI-driven applications using LLM tool use, planning, memory, and multi-step reasoning.
- Implement and debug model training, evaluation, and inference pipelines.
- Deploy ML systems using Docker and cloud platforms, and optimize distributed training or inference.
- Use AI development tools, prompt engineering, and structured system context to produce reliable, secure, and production-ready outputs.
Requirements
- Exceptional software engineering skills and strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Deep machine learning knowledge with a meaningful implementation track record.
- Strong proficiency in Python and solid experience with C++ and/or Java.
- Experience building production-quality systems.
- Practical experience with LLMs, agentic workflows, prompting, orchestration, and evaluation.
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks and a strong understanding of ML fundamentals.
- Experience deploying ML systems with Docker and AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with distributed training or inference and performance optimization.
- Advanced prompt engineering skills and the ability to cultivate reliable system context.
- A demonstrated AI-first approach to engineering and experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor.
- Strategic thinking, collaboration, resilience, proactive execution, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
- Competitive coding experience such as ACM-ICPC or experience founding a startup in agentic AI or LLMs is cited as a candidate profile.

- The role includes base salary ranges of $172,500-$260,100 annually, or $207,800-$285,800 annually in select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area locations; bonus, equity, and benefits may be separate.
