Responsibilities
- Define the strategic technical direction for the Experience platform and broader Engineering organization.
- Design, architect, and implement software systems for genomic applications and patient and provider experiences.
- Lead complex, ambiguous projects from scoping through production while owning architecture and implementation strategy.
- Drive AI adoption in engineering workflows, including prompt libraries, context frameworks, safeguards, and evaluations for AI-generated code.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, UX researchers, scientists, and business leaders on cross-functional initiatives.
- Establish engineering standards, delivery practices, quality expectations, and durable solutions that reduce technical debt.
- Mentor engineers and help develop future technical leaders.
Requirements
- 10+ years of equivalent professional software engineering experience with demonstrated impact at scale.
- Strong product engineering mindset and ability to work autonomously on customer- and business-focused outcomes.
- Experience implementing and promoting AI adoption in engineering workflows, including automated safeguards and evaluations.
- Proficiency with distributed systems on cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Deep full-stack expertise with proficiency in a backend language such as Go, Java, Python, Scala, or Rust.
- Experience developing and maintaining single-page applications with React, Next.js, Vue.js, or similar frameworks using TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Track record of raising technical standards beyond the immediate team or department and fluency in written and spoken English.
- Preferred: bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field; regulated software experience involving HIPAA, ISO, or FDA; event-driven architecture; AWS serverless infrastructure; and life sciences, healthcare, or genomics experience.
