Base Salary
$170k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Analyze systems comprehensively to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Create and monitor meaningful performance metrics for service components.
- Advise engineering teams on scalable and performant feature design and implementation.
- Solve scalability challenges including sharding Postgres and Redis, splitting ECS tasks into independently scalable services, and addressing Node event loop blockages.
- Develop systems that improve the throughput, reliability, and performance observability of Clay’s core systems.
Requirements
- Experience optimizing API latency and working with SQL and related technologies, preferably Postgres.
- Experience in a performance-focused engineering role, including query optimization and schema design for relational databases and distributed search engines.
- Expertise in at least one of Redis, Postgres, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch.
- Experience working with systems and data at scale, such as high-performance data pipelines, event ingestion systems, or large production systems, is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency optimizing serverless workloads on AWS is preferred.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, Python, AWS services, Terraform, CircleCI, Netlify, Playwright, CloudWatch, Datadog, or Mezmo is preferred.
- A results-oriented, impact-focused, curious, and open-minded approach is expected.
