Base Salary
$120k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and support production-quality compiler and runtime features for the Windows ML MLIR platform.
- Optimize machine learning model execution across CPU, GPU, and NPU hardware through graph transformations, operator lowering, memory management, scheduling, and performance analysis.
- Own complex features from design through deployment and use telemetry and engineering practices to improve reliability, diagnosability, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Windows, model, runtime, and silicon-partner engineers to integrate capabilities and resolve end-to-end performance and compatibility issues.
- Lead by example in producing extensible, maintainable, well-tested, secure, and performant code.
- Guide engineers and stakeholders through project planning, release planning, estimation, dependencies, and production readiness.
- Act as a designated responsible individual, participate in on-call monitoring, respond to incidents, and drive efforts to reduce incident volume.
- Stay current with engineering developments and conduct learning sessions on design, security, testability, performance, scalability, accessibility, and product knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: master's degree and 6+ years of technical engineering experience, or bachelor's degree and 8+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: experience with MLIR, LLVM, ONNX Runtime, or comparable compiler and runtime technologies.
- Preferred: experience optimizing machine learning workloads for CPU, GPU, NPU, or other heterogeneous hardware.
- Preferred: knowledge of machine learning inference, graph compilation, memory management, and performance analysis.
- Preferred: experience building local model integrations in system- or application-level components.
- Preferred: experience developing and debugging production software in modern C++.
- Preferred: experience with systems software, compilers, runtimes, machine learning infrastructure, or performance-critical platform components.
- Preferred: ability to design, implement, test, and operate complex software features across team boundaries.
