Engineer 1 - Software Engineer
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Design, develop, and test software modules, components, features, and products for power plant control system configuration and management.
- Develop desktop applications and complex software solutions using C# and .NET.
- Collaborate with internal customers and users globally to understand user stories and use cases.
- Lead multiple products, including maintenance of legacy applications.
- Create customized product documentation for developers and users.
- Propose solutions to complex technical problems and understand how the team’s work integrates with other teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM major from an accredited college or university.
- 2–5 years of professional experience developing desktop applications, preferably with .NET and C#.
- Experience with WinForms and WPF.
- Knowledge of modular applications, n-tier architecture, and object-oriented design principles.
- Good interpersonal, oral communication, and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of software design patterns, test-driven development, modern coding principles, software security, scalability, documentation, refactoring, and testing techniques is desired.
- Experience with multithreaded and asynchronous programming is desired.
- Experience with industrial protocols including MODBUS, Profibus, Profinet, FF, CAN, and Ethernet is desired.
