Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship Flox platform features across CLI tools, backend services, and infrastructure using Rust, Python, and TypeScript.
- Own the quality and reliability of delivered software through testing, code review, and architectural decisions.
- Use agentic coding tools as the default workflow for complex and ambiguous production engineering work.
- Build and maintain AI development infrastructure such as harnesses, context engineering, automation, feedback loops, and evaluation frameworks.
- Evaluate agentic development tools and practices through experiments and evidence-based recommendations.
- Help engineers adopt sophisticated and reliable AI-assisted workflows by documenting and codifying effective practices.
- Assess when AI agents accelerate work and when they introduce risk, complexity, or false confidence.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
- Production experience with Rust, Python, and/or TypeScript, with strong proficiency in at least one and comfort across the others.
- Daily primary use of agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot.
- Experience building team-adopted AI development infrastructure, including harnesses, agent skills, automation scripts, evaluation frameworks, or workflows.
- Strong engineering fundamentals, including architecture judgment, complex codebase reasoning, and disciplined quality practices.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to document workflows and practices effectively.
- Developer tooling, CLI, or infrastructure engineering experience is a strong signal.
- Familiarity with Nix, NixOS, or reproducible build systems is a strong signal.
- Tech lead experience and backgrounds in software supply chain tooling, package management, or build systems are strong signals.
- Contributions to open-source AI development tooling, skills, or harness frameworks are a strong signal.
