Base Salary

$160k - $225k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and deliver scalable, fault-tolerant, resilient distributed microservices for cybersecurity range simulations.
  • Design platform capabilities that coordinate AI-enabled services and autonomous workflows for dynamic attack and user emulation.
  • Partner with product managers, UX designers, and engineering leadership to define roadmaps and lead multi-quarter technical initiatives.
  • Drive reliability, performance tuning, fault tolerance, code quality, testing, API design, and system architecture standards.
  • Mentor and coach engineers through design reviews, code reviews, feedback, and delegation of high-impact initiatives.
  • Build observability, telemetry, alerting, high-availability, incident-resolution, and zero-downtime deployment capabilities.
  • Embed security, compliance, and offensive and defensive mitigation patterns into system design and the software development lifecycle.
  • Document architectural decisions, technical specifications, and reusable system design patterns.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of hands-on software development experience architecting, building, and operating large-scale distributed microservices in production.
  • A two-year degree in science and technology or commensurate experience.
  • Deep expertise in object-oriented languages such as Java or Kotlin, including advanced API design, system integration, and event-driven architectures.
  • Production expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, and Spring Boot.
  • Experience integrating AI or LLM capabilities into production software systems, including attention to service boundaries, context management, reliability, security, and observability.
  • Experience leading complex multi-system initiatives and making pragmatic trade-offs involving speed, scalability, and technical debt.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including offensive and defensive tactics, user emulation techniques, or threat landscapes.
  • Experience identifying system bottlenecks, improving fault tolerance, and resolving complex distributed-systems failures.
  • Experience with agentic workflows, orchestration systems, MCP, or A2A communication patterns is a plus.
  • Experience integrating AI or machine-learning capabilities into production backend systems and exposure to reinforcement-learning concepts are nice to have.
