Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test features and bug fixes in performance tooling and infrastructure using Python.
- Contribute to performance workloads and benchmarking pipelines for MongoDB products.
- Maintain and improve existing performance testing software by refactoring code and enhancing test coverage.
- Debug and diagnose performance or reliability issues using internal observability tools.
- Participate in code reviews, asking questions and incorporating feedback.
- Keep documentation and guides for performance tooling accurate and user-friendly.
- Build strong relationships with engineers across MongoDB to represent user needs.
- Take ownership of small-to-medium scoped projects, communicating progress and delivering improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, preferably Python.
- Experience in writing and testing software through internships, projects, or coursework.
- Interest in modern software delivery practices like CI/CD and cloud platforms.
- Growing skills in clear written and verbal communication.
- A growth mindset, seeking feedback and opportunities for learning.
