Staff Software Engineer, Backend

Base Salary
$180k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend systems, APIs, and services.
- Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Serve as the team’s go-to technical leader and guide technical and architectural decisions.
- Mentor junior developers through guidance, feedback, and technical coaching.
- Help shape scalable, secure, and maintainable system architecture.
- Lead code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
- Analyze complex technical challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver features and improvements.
- Ensure systems meet high standards for security, performance, and reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or an equivalent field.
- 8–12+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend development expertise.
- Extensive experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex software solutions.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
- Expertise with Spring and Hibernate.
- Experience implementing SSO solutions such as SAML and OpenID.
- Experience with MySQL or another relational database management system.
- Ability to take initiative and help define product design.
- Comfort working in an agile development process.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must like dogs, which are present in the office every day.
