Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain complex engine systems aligned with technical roadmaps and team goals.
- Define and manage per-system frame budgets and performance metrics while providing technical guidance to cross-functional teams.
- Develop, integrate, and scale foundational Unreal Engine systems for performance-critical networked games.
- Deliver performant implementations within strict memory and system constraints.
- Implement data-driven live-service systems, including asset streaming, patching strategies, and live-data synchronization.
- Partner with leadership to establish performance metrics and shape long-term technical roadmaps.
- Contribute to core EA technologies and support collaborative development across large-scale systems.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience with C++.
- 5+ years of experience with Unreal Engine architecture, including core systems, performance management, memory optimization, multithreading, or job strategies.
- Experience with parallel programming, resource management, and multi-processor hardware architecture.
- Advanced experience profiling, optimizing, and debugging Unreal Engine performance bottlenecks, including memory management.
- Proficiency integrating and maintaining large-scale systems across multiple domains.
- Advanced debugging skills for client/server multiplayer games.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex technical and architectural decisions to engineers and leadership.
