Base Salary
$116k - $161k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and improve the core Underwriting Workbench experience.
- Maintain performance, responsiveness, and reliability in a data-heavy application.
- Create clear and trustworthy interfaces for AI-assisted underwriting workflows.
- Partner with Product Management and Design to define requirements and solve user problems.
- Work directly with underwriters to translate workflow insights into product improvements.
- Improve technical quality through code reviews, testing, reusable components, and technical roadmap contributions.
Requirements
- Two or more years of professional software development experience and a Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience building web interfaces with TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience integrating frontend applications with REST APIs and collaborating with backend engineers.
- Experience managing complex application state, including tables, filters, saved views, optimistic updates, and synchronized workflows.
- Experience diagnosing frontend performance and reliability issues with tools such as Chrome DevTools, Sentry, or Datadog.
- Strong product judgment and the ability to make progress through ambiguity.
- Experience with Git or comparable source-control tools and agile software development practices.
- Preferred experience includes internal tools for daily power users, REST API development with Python, relational databases and SQL, Next.js, Material UI, rich-text editors, virtualized tables, real-time collaborative interfaces, cybersecurity, or insurtech.
