Responsibilities

  • Own and operate the Load Management Control platform and software supporting DEF Demand Response programs.
  • Monitor and maintain real-time control systems, databases, telecommunications infrastructure, configurations, and data flows.
  • Build and maintain third-party API integrations with Demand Response vendors and connected-device OEMs.
  • Develop and support system logic, scripts, internal automation, and operational tooling, including Python-based tools.
  • Manage releases, testing, deployments, rollback planning, and environments across development, training, and production.
  • Provide Energy Control Center deployment support, operator enablement, training, real-time event support, and technical guidance.
  • Coordinate controlled production changes and support system reliability during grid events and other critical operational periods.
  • Participate in after-hours/on-call support and incident response.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer and Information Science, Database Management, Information Systems, or another technical/related field.
  • At least 2 years of related work experience for the System Architecture Specialist level; at least 5 years for the Senior System Architecture Specialist level.
  • Programming or scripting experience with technologies such as Python, C#, C++, or JavaScript.
  • Experience troubleshooting software and infrastructure, including servers, networking, databases, and integrations.
  • Experience supporting real-time or near-real-time operational systems and database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2.
  • Ability to support after-hours/on-call responsibilities during critical events.
  • Experience with production systems across multiple environments, release management, API integrations, vendor or OEM platforms, internal automation, or operational support applications is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAP, AWS, utility operations, control systems, grid or telecommunications platforms, Demand Response, load control, or distributed energy resource systems is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 5–15%.
