Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Gather functional and non-functional requirements and design, develop, test, and support grid applications and interfaces.
- Develop EMS functionality for power flow, state estimation, contingency analysis, load frequency control, forecasting, dispatcher training, stability analysis, and related custom applications.
- Program in Fortran, C/C++, Java, Perl, and Python across Windows and Linux environments.
- Develop Oracle PL/SQL database changes and support EMS upgrade migrations.
- Build optimization models using techniques, constraints, CPLEX, and AMPL for grid operations and congestion management.
- Collaborate on CIM data modeling, importer schema changes, and EMS integration solutions.
- Deploy, configure, integrate, and test vendor software including GE EMS, Siemens NMMS, Powertech DSATools, EPG PMU/RTDMS, and Itron MetrixIDR.
- Provide Level 2 support for critical production issues in a 24x7 support environment and perform application, database, and system root-cause analysis.
- Automate development and testing processes using Jenkins, Maven, Bitbucket, Selenium, and related tools.
- Design containerized microservices and cloud-native solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Develop and deploy AI/ML models and data pipelines for grid analytics, forecasting, anomaly detection, and decision support.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, deliver technical training, and collaborate with engineering, operations, vendors, and project management teams.
- At the senior level, define architecture, lead AI/ML strategy, advise management, guide cross-organizational teams, and oversee software development lifecycle activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field is required; equivalent knowledge from a combination of education and experience is accepted.
- At least 3 years of related work experience beyond degree requirements is required for Level 3; the Senior level requires at least 5 years beyond degree requirements.
- Experience with electric-industry Energy Management Systems or Market Management Systems is preferred.
- Electric power industry experience with an ISO, utility, or vendor is preferred.
- Experience designing cloud and hybrid solutions using AWS or Azure is preferred.
- Experience with C, C++, Java, Python, Perl, Fortran, and Oracle PL/SQL is preferred.
- Experience with CPLEX, AMPL, Gurobi, CIM/XML modeling, and PSS/E is preferred.
- Experience with messaging services such as Tibco JMS and AMQ is preferred.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AI/ML techniques, data analytics, forecasting, anomaly detection, and operational insights is preferred.
- Senior-level candidates should be able to define architecture, lead technical strategy, advise management, guide teams, and mentor junior developers.
