Responsibilities
- Develop stability, recovery, scalability, and performance improvements for software systems.
- Implement observability capabilities and analyze system performance, availability, and stability.
- Run benchmarks and optimize production systems to address bottlenecks, response times, and resource utilization.
- Develop and maintain automation and tooling for operations, deployment, and incident management.
- Perform root cause analyses and implement remedial actions following incidents.
- Provide Level 2 incident-response support and monitor infrastructure capacity.
- Adjust system configuration to address user requests and collaborate on scaling systems for user demand.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related subject.
- At least 4 years of experience in Software Engineering, Software Reliability, or a similar role, including hands-on software development and Level 2 support.
- Experience developing in Python or a similar language and familiarity with Git or comparable version control systems.
- Experience working in a Linux environment.
- Experience developing automation tools and implementing configuration management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and attention-to-detail skills.
- C++ or KDB/q development experience is preferred.
- Experience with Slurm, Airflow, Kafka, or AMPS is preferred.
