Responsibilities
- Design and build systems behind pensions, retirement savings, Spend, contributions, provider integrations, employer configuration, card issuing, and wallet provisioning.
- Investigate employer and employee problems and translate them into product decisions.
- Work across the backend and frontend as needed in a full-stack role.
- Own work end to end from scoping and architecture through delivery, post-launch reliability, and customer issues.
- Participate in client calls, code reviews, technical planning, and shaping team processes.
- Contribute ideas to the roadmap and challenge requests that do not address the underlying problem.
- Use AI for planning, building, reviewing, and shipping.
- Keep owned systems reliable, secure, and observable.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience building production software, with examples of owning and improving products.
- Strong product judgment and ability to explain user problems, decisions, and customer outcomes.
- Full-stack experience, including deep backend capability and frontend development when required.
- Experience taking a loose brief to production and pushing back on the wrong thing to build.
- Experience building dependable APIs or integrations with third-party systems.
- Fintech, payroll, pensions, or benefits experience is preferred.
- Experience using AI for planning, setup, review, and development, with critical evaluation of its output.
- Clear communication skills for explaining decisions to engineers and customers.
- Attention to reliability, security, and compliance, plus comfort with pace, ambiguity, and ownership.
- Ability to work GMT hours with an 08:00–10:00 start.
