Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, document, and maintain software programs or scripts of medium-to-high complexity.
- Develop software components that meet user needs and follow applicable standards, patterns, and security controls.
- Develop instrument interfaces using LabVantage SDMS and build simple system interfaces while contributing to more complex integrations.
- Translate logical designs into physical designs, produce detailed designs, and create and iterate prototypes.
- Operate services, troubleshoot production issues, fix faults, and perform infrastructure maintenance tasks.
- Manage service components to meet business needs and performance targets.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, data professionals, enterprise architects, engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Coach and mentor more junior colleagues and guide others in applying standards and implementation approaches.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience as a software engineer.
- At least three years of experience developing in LabVantage LIMS and interfacing instruments with LabVantage LIMS SDMS.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, software development methodologies, software design, and architecture.
- Experience with Git, integrated development environments such as Visual Studio, IntelliJ IDEA, or Eclipse, databases, SQL, automated testing, and cloud platforms.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, microservices architecture, and RESTful API design.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, efficient, secure, and well-tested code and work collaboratively.
- Preferred experience with Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps practices and tools, machine learning, cybersecurity, or mobile development.
- Preferred ability to lead and mentor junior developers.
