Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, code, test, and debug embedded firmware written in C and/or C++.
  • Maintain and improve the Arduino codebase.
  • Contribute to open-source projects including Zephyr RTOS.
  • Prototype product solutions from research through production.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for designs, code, and test procedures.
  • Collaborate with hardware, application software, quality assurance, and product management teams to define requirements, integrate components, and deliver products.
  • Represent Arduino at internal and external events and engage with the developer community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, with the stated corresponding software engineering experience.
  • At least 2 years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
  • Strong proficiency in C and/or C++ for embedded systems.
  • Experience with JTAG/SWD, debugging tools, and hardware debugging.
  • Extensive experience with hardware interfaces and protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet, CAN, and GPIO.
  • Knowledge of IoT protocols including MQTT, CoAP, HTTP, TCP, UDP, and AMQP.
  • Broad knowledge of Git workflows.
  • Fluent written and verbal English.
  • Knowledge of the Arduino ecosystem and experience with Golang and/or Python are bonus qualifications.
