Responsibilities
- Own testing strategy, design, and development for automated, manual, and non-functional tests across application layers.
- Ensure adequate testing-layer coverage in line with software testing principles and practices.
- Create and maintain test scripts and configure test automation tools within a continuous integration environment.
- Provide technical leadership, direction, mentoring, and knowledge sharing within a multi-skilled team.
- Manage, coach, and develop a small number of staff, including setting objectives, giving feedback, and leading performance reviews.
- Interact with customers and manage stakeholders while supporting delivery of quality software for public-sector users.
Requirements
- Experience applying software testing principles and ensuring adequate coverage across testing layers.
- Expertise designing, creating, and maintaining manual and automated tests, including non-functional testing.
- Experience with open-source test automation technologies such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, or Cypress.
- Experience configuring testing tools such as Jenkins or TeamCity within a continuous integration environment.
- Practical knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language, such as Java.
- Strong technical awareness and understanding of software architectures.
- Experience managing others, setting objectives, providing feedback, and leading performance reviews.
- Desirable: experience as a Test Lead or similar on a medium-to-large Agile project.
- Desirable: stakeholder management and commercial awareness experience.
- Desirable: experience in defence, health, or public-sector environments.
