GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Design and maintain a Repository/Unit-of-Work abstraction layer for storage providers.
- Manage PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MongoDB lifecycles and define standardized data-access interfaces for microservices.
- Optimize complex queries, execution plans, indexing, locking, and connection pooling for sub-100ms dashboard latency.
- Implement CQRS and Read-Model patterns, including Redis-backed read models.
- Automate Kubernetes database maintenance, backups, point-in-time recovery, schema updates, and patching using Operators or Helm workflows.
- Implement Circuit Breaker patterns and horizontal scaling strategies for persistence layers.
- Own the Core Data Library used by other engineering teams.
- Define RTO and RPO objectives for mission-critical data.
- Lead Strangler Fig migration efforts toward a decoupled data architecture.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent in computer science or a related field.
- Expert-level experience with relational databases including PostgreSQL and SQL Server, and NoSQL databases including MongoDB.
- Strong proficiency with Repository, Unit-of-Work, and CQRS patterns.
- Experience building internal data-access libraries that abstract ORM and driver complexity.
- Experience managing database instances within Kubernetes and using Kubernetes Operators for database lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks involving query plans, locking, indexing, and connection pooling.
- Understanding of ACID compliance and eventual consistency tradeoffs.
