Responsibilities
- Build fault-tolerant, horizontally scalable distributed systems for multi-tenant production environments.
- Design and operate platforms that ingest, store, analyze, and query billions of real-time events per second.
- Write backend software in Go, Java, Rust, C++, and other languages.
- Use Kafka, Redis, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and other open-source components.
- Own meaningful portions of services and contribute to their reliability, performance, and operability.
- Use AI coding tools in daily workflows and validate, critique, and refine generated output.
Requirements
- Significant backend programming experience in one or more of Go, Java, Rust, or C++.
- BS, MS, or PhD in a scientific field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with problems involving high durability, low latency, and related distributed-systems constraints.
- Ability to work at a low level when needed and care about simple, high-performance designs.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools and evaluate their output.
- Interest in improving software engineering practices and potentially contributing to AI-enabled products is a bonus.
